Nickel Plate Express was founded in northern Hamilton County in 2017 and began operations in 2018. Through educational and entertaining rail programs, we aim to preserve the rich railroad history of our surrounding communities. Each year, Nickel Plate Express welcomes more than 20,000 passengers and serves as a regional tourism destination for Noblesville and Northern Hamilton County. As part of its operations, the organization maintains a 150-year-old depot along the former Nickel Plate Road in Arcadia, IN.
The revenue from the sale of tickets is used for track repairs, train repairs, and program expenses. With a growing number of passengers served each year, we have increased staff training in CPR, Stop the Bleed, and other safety procedures. With your support, we will be able to purchase AEDs so that our crew can respond quickly to a medical emergency and perhaps save a life.
